Microsoft’s Silverlight platform will soon be made available to users of Symbian S60 devices. At present, there are only two versions available for Symbian; an installer for Symbian S60 (5th edition) and a developer tools suite that develops Silverlight applications for Symbian devices.
Silverlight is used to create interactive apps for the Web while Symbian is the biggest Smartphone platform and by teaming up with it, Microsoft is expanding the reach of Silverlight. This is the first occasion that Microsoft has brought in Silverlight to work with a non-Microsoft platform.
