According to a research conducted by the NPD group, Google’s Android OS surpassed Apple OS in the U.S. consumer smartphone market. The list is topped by BlackBerry devices with 36% in the entire market. Android is in the second spot with 28% share of the market, while Apple is in the third spot with 21%.
The major reasons for growing sales are considered to be the easy availability in the U.S. market. Brands like Samsung, Motorola, and HTC all use the Android OS. Most of the U.S. wireless carriers are using Android OS for their promotions and marketing.
