As per the data analyzed by Mobile ad exchange, Mobclix, the App Store is said to have approximately around 3,122 apps developed specially for the iPad. Out of these, 2,523 apps (80%) are paid apps, while 599 (20%) are free.
Gaming apps still rule the App Store, with 942 apps. Out of these, 804 are paid apps and 138 are free apps. Most of the book apps are paid apps, with an average price of approximately $4.99. It is predicted that the prices of these apps should go down eventually, like the prices of the iPhone apps. The iPhone’s breakdown of the paid and free apps is almost similar, according to Mobclix.
