Foursquare the popular mobile app for social networking has just turned one year old and has already generated much interest. This app allows users to “check in” their current location, has more than half a million users and 15.5 million check-ins and still continues to grow.
Searches for Foursquare have been growing steadily. Its weekly share of traffic in the U.S is approximately 0.00032%. What is most surprising is that Facebook is the site’s number one referrer (33%), followed by Google (22%) and Twitter (8%). However, this start-up site may face tough competition from Facebook itself in this year, along with other competitors like Yelp and Gowalla.
