Next Generation iPhone to Unveil Tomorrow

Apple is ready to unveil its fourth-generation iPhone tomorrow. This model is expected to include significant upgrade features.

Earlier, Apple had been successful in wrapping the details of its upcoming products from leaking out before the release announcement, but not this time. Apparently, people already know about the Smartphone which Steve Jobs is going to announce at tomorrow’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

According to predictable reports, this device will be called the iPhone HD, and have a touchscreen with IPS and a resolution of 640 x 960, way higher than the 320 x 480 ones in all earlier editions, and even higher than the 480 x 640 screens offered by most competitors. However, the actual display size will not be very different. Several leaked out images revealed that this phone will have a less rounded look.

It is expected to be the first ever version of Apple’s operating system that will allow third-party applications to run in the background. It will be based on an Apple A4 processor, a 1 GHz chip also used in the new iPad. The device will have 512 MB of RAM according to the reports available. Besides flaunting a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, the next iPhone is expected to support iChat video conferencing using a front-facing camera.

The iPhone HD will almost certainly offer other features users have come to expect, like 3G wireless networking, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.
