According to a study sponsored by Getjar, an online mobile app store, mobile device users in North America pay more for mobile apps than consumers in other geographic regions. The study shows that mobile advertising will play a more important role in generating revenue in Indonesia, Brazil, India and China, where currently, app prices are low.
The findings also show that in the present market for mobile apps, North America is where money can be made. While the number of downloads in other countries do sometimes exceed that of North America, it manages to generate more revenue. Smartphone apps in North America have an average selling price of $1.09.
