Google’s Android phone, Nexus One has been denied the trademark by the US Patent and Trademark Office on the name Nexus One. It was ruled as being too close to Integra Telecom’s registered trademark for its Nexus fixed bandwidth integrated voice and internet T1 product, based in Oregon.
The big question now is whether Google will rename the Nexus One or whether it will pay Integra for the privilege of using the name Nexus. Nexus One’s initial sales have been weaker when compared to Apple’s iPhone.
