Apple Plans a New Mobile Social Media Networking App

Apple is building a social media application called iGroups for the iPhone. The application’s main focus is to ensure privacy so that people can exchange information and meet online in a secure manner.  The news about this was uncovered when folks from Patently Apple revealed information about documents, with details of the app, which were published to the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office).

There is already an iPhone app called iGroups so Apple will have to do something about resolving the issue about the name with the developers. It is believed that the new app uses “virtual GPS” a system that uses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth as proximity tools.
