Adobe Debuts Flash Player 10.1 Beta

Adobe releases the public beta of Flash Player 10.1 for Android, thus bringing Flash closer to the mobile platform.

Flash 10.1 for Android was redesigned from the scratch to enable complete compatibility with mobile device inputs, and to improve battery life and performance. Adobe assured that the new version supports multi-touch, gestures, accelerometer inputs, and proactive zooming.

Adobe Flash 10.1 is expected to deliver a dynamic performance due to its hardware acceleration with H.264 video decoding and advanced memory management features. Adobe claims to have endeavored to attain the highest performance level possible. However, all these enhancements will be available only on Android OS 2.2. Users of the earlier models of Android phones cannot enjoy Flash as of now.
