According to AdMob’s Mobile Metrics report for February 2010, smartphones accounted for 48% of its worldwide traffic, moving from 35% in February 2009. However, the most important development is the steady rise of the iPhone OS and the Android phone.
Referring to smartphones requests in AdMob’s networks, Symbian’s share of requests fell from 43% in 2009 to 18% in 2010, while iPhone’s share of requests rose from 33% in 2009 to 50% in 2010. Android fared better, rising from 2% in 2009 to 24% in 2010. The report also mentioned that Symbian was the leader of the smartphone market at the end of 2009.
